The Role As a Periodontal Surgical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our periodontist during complex procedures, including Osseous surgical procedures, implant placements, and extractions. You will be responsible for ensuring patient comfort and safety while managing the operating room efficiently. Key Responsibilities Assist the periodontist during implant surgeries, periodontal surgical procedures, extractions, and pre/post-operative procedures. Prepare the operating room, and sterilize dental instruments and surgical areas to maintain strict hygiene and infection control protocols. Guide patients before, during, and after treatments, ensuring comfort and care. Take dental X-rays or digital scans required for periodontal procedures and implant planning. Maintain accurate patient records and handle the inventory of surgical tools, implants, and materials. Perform allowable supportive duties in compliance with New York State regulations. Qualifications Prior chairside experience assisting a periodontist or working as a dental implant assistant is highly preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor to connect with and serve patients efficiently and at a high level. Strong organizational and multitasking skills to smoothly manage the balance between administrative and clinical duties.
