AM Session Description: "Prosthetic and surgical considerations for partially edentulous patients treated with implant prostheses"
"Treatment planning considerations for partially edentulous patients" (Dr. Konstantinos Chochlidakis)
"Surgical considerations for partially edentulous patients" (Dr. Alexandra Tsigarida)
Implants in the esthetic zone can be challenging. Technical and biologic complications of implant-supported crowns and fixed partial dentures are unfortunately quite common. Major and minor complications are significant factors affecting the success of our treatment and negatively affect the longevity of implant prostheses. In this lecture, we will go through the treatment planning sequence in anterior esthetic cases (both surgical and prosthetic aspects). We will discuss the pros and cons of screw vs. cement-retained implant restorations, provisionalization techniques, implant abutments, utilization of digital technology, different prosthetic materials, and different surgical approaches that are used in implant prosthodontics. Clinical recommendations and conclusions will be drawn for predictable long-term outcomes.

AM Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the treatment planning process in partially edentulous patients
2. Understand the surgical considerations in challenging esthetic implant situations
3. Understand the prosthetic and surgical factors for successful outcomes in partially edentulous patients (esthetic factors, prosthetic space, implant position, etc.)
4. Understand the available abutment types and restorative materials for implant restorations
5. Provide clinical recommendations for predictable long-term outcomes

PM Session Description: "Prosthetic and surgical considerations in full-arch implant rehabilitations"
"Treatment planning considerations for completely edentulous patients" (Dr. Konstantinos Chochlidakis)
"Surgical considerations for completely edentulous patients" (Dr. Alexandra Tsigarida)
Prosthetic and biologic complications of implant-supported fixed complete dentures are unfortunately quite common. Minor and major complications are significant factors affecting the success of our treatment and negatively affect the longevity of these prostheses. The association between surgical and prosthetic factors (grafting techniques and materials, number of implants, prosthetic materials, cantilever length, bruxism, occlusion, and others) and the survival of these prostheses will be presented. This presentation will also address the current scientific status of full-digital protocols for complete digital workflow in fixed implant rehabilitation for edentulous patients. Clinical recommendations and conclusions will be drawn for predictable long-term outcomes.

PM Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the available materials/techniques for implant fixed complete dentures
2. Understand the main surgical procedures and techniques for treating the edentulous arch
3. Understand the prosthetic and surgical factors for successful outcomes with fixed complete dentures (esthetic factors, prosthetic space, loading protocols, number of implants, etc.)
4. Understand the risk factors that are correlated to prosthetic and biologic complications for different prosthetic materials
5. Describe the various applications of digital technology in full-arch fixed implant rehabilitation
6. Discuss the scientific evidence for the applications of digital technology in full-arch fixed implant rehabilitation

Konstantinos Chochlidakis, DDS, MS, FACP
Dr. Konstantinos Chochlidakis received his dental degree from the University of Athens, Greece in 2008 and completed his prosthodontic residency at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health (EIOH) in 2013. Dr. Chochlidakis is currently an Associate Professor and the Program Director of the Prosthodontic Postgraduate Training Program at EIOH. Dr Chochlidakis received his Master of Clinical and Translational Science certificate in May 2019. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontists, Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, Fellow of the Academy of Prosthodontics, Fellow of the International Team for Implantology and holds several memberships in other dental organizations. He was the Vice-Chair of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) 2019 annual meeting and the scientific Program Chair of the American Prosthodontic Society (APS) in the 2022 annual meeting. Dr Chochlidakis is also a Director of the Editorial Council of the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry as well as a Director of the Education Foundation of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACPEF). He is focused on clinical research conducting clinical trials on full-arch implant prostheses, digital dental technology, and dental ceramic materials. He has lectured nationally and internationally on several topics related to clinical prosthodontics and implant dentistry.

Alexandra Tsigarida, DDS, MS
Dr. Tsigarida was born and raised in Greece. She attended the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens- Dental School where she graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2008. Throughout her training and practice, Dr. Tsigarida has been active in promoting dentistry through her involvement in dental research focusing on the microbiology of peri-implantitis. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and received multiple awards in international research meetings. Dr. Tsigarida is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and an active member of several national dental organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, ITI (International Team for Implantology) and International Association of Dental Research.
