During Governor Cuomo’s briefing today, he shared that the Southern Tier, Mohawk Valley, and Finger Lakes regions have met metrics to start the reopening process. To learn where regions currently stand, view Regional Monitoring Dashboard.

This does not allow for the full return of routine dentistry in those areas. Dentistry is still an essential business for emergency dental treatments only in all areas. Until we have a definitive response from the Governor, or local county officials, dental offices should not plan to fully reopen on any specific date at this time.

REGIONAL MONITORING DASHBOARD

NYSDA is committed to keeping you apprised of the most up-to-date information

This is a very fluid situation. As soon as dental offices can reopen for all treatments, NYSDA will notify you. NYSDA is strongly advocating with the Governor and the Department of Health for dental offices to return to full service as quickly as possible. We strongly believe that now is the time for you, the dentist, to independently exercise your professional judgment as to what services you determine are necessary and which can be safely provided. We have communicated our position to both the Governor and the Department of Health and we will press our argument, not just for the benefit of dentists, but also for the patients they serve.
