Topic: Prosthodontically-driven Implant Treatment
To fulfill the goal of replacing single or multiple missing teeth with implant supported prostheses that are comfortable, functional and esthetic, we must at the outset know where the prosthetic teeth will be positioned in any partially or completely edentulous space. Only then can we proceed with guide fabrication and implant surgical placement in appropriate 3-dimentional positions to properly support the planned prosthesis. This seems obvious, but how do we know if the lab has positioned the teeth correctly in the diagnostic wax-uo or set-up? What measurements did we provide the lab that cannot be obtained from the casts? This lecture will present the relationship of the objective parameters for location of prosthetic teeth in the edentulous space to the surgical placement of dental implants.
