Featured Speaker - Dr. Dimitrios (Jimmy) Kilimitzoglou
With new trends in technology it can be challenging to determine which equipment or technique would be appropriate to incorporate in one’s dental practice. It is important to take into consideration the philosophy of the practitioner and the specific practice in order to make key decisions. There are certain technologies that are of higher priority than others. There have been advances in diagnostics, treatment planning, implant surgery, prosthodontics, orthodontics, sedation, endodontics and oral surgery. In addition, technology can be used for patient comfort, marketing as well as office management. This lecture will discuss various technological applications for different disciplines in dentistry. Ethical considerations will also be addressed as well as pros and cons to these dental technologies. At the completion of the course, participants will be able to identify new trends of technology in dentistry, understand the positive and negative implications associated with them and recognize how these can enhance and elevate dental practices, the quality of care as well as the overall patient experience.
